Last night after resting up from a day of manual labor, Rach and I went to Centennial Park where each Saturday night throughout the summer, the city of Nashville provides half hour dance lessons to the public. After the short lessons which range in all type of dance, a small band plays a number of songs for everyone to participate in. The whole event itself reminded me of the scene in "Sweet Home Alabama" and felt so southern. Watching the older couples wheel around the dance floor so in sync, I couldn't help but do the classic, "awww". After watching for a while both of us were asked to dance and so my first dance partner spun me so fast during a polka number I think I got whiplash to some degree. After a few more numbers of incessant spins and dips Rachel and I traded partners. Unfortunately my new dance partner was a fan of the middle school shuffle. Looking back it must have been pretty comical to those around us flying by with their fancy waltzes and foxtrots. In the end we got to do the electric slide, a line dance involving no crazy partners.
