Ramen & Graham Crackers

Ah yes, the staple of being poor--Great Value (aka Walmart) graham crackers and ramen noodles.  Aside from the excellent cuisine, today entailed, you guessed it, a LOT of walking.  I will be starting a running tally of distance walked somewhere on this blog because I would like it to be on my tombstone when they send my weak, pathetic, and shoeless self back to NY.

Started off looking for a job at a typical college bar across from Vanderbilt Campus which used to be called Varsity Grill but was recently taken over by new management who are calling it "The Frayed Knot"...classy and ironically next door to a restaurant called the Mellow Mushroom.  Either way, the owner was real laid back and will supposedly give us a call next week.  Followed that up with a brief and disappointing job search on campus.  With the lack of available jobs a slight panic has begun to settle in, keep 'em crossed y'all.

Later in the evening "JDM Management" had the Corbette Jackson Band (lead singer=hot and talented) playing at a bar on Broadway called Legends.  As Rachel is interning with this company starting June 1st it was a good time to check out the band and the people.  So we headed down to "The Gulch" a nearby trendy district of Nashville (kind of like the village of Skaneateles for my fellow Syracusan readers) to catch the bus.  Spent the night at Legends and found a new fun song which y'all better listen to; "too cool for college" an original by the Corbette Jackson Band.  After a nice 3 hours of country music we peaced out to find some other interesting activities buuut after a very brief and slightly naive stop at a nearby karaoke bar where the waitresses were dancing around in their bras and spanking each other we decided to head home and grabbed a taxi.

...and the rest of these pictures are just walking around Broadway

Broadway is full of tourists and each bar is pretty similar to the last with bands playing covers of country music hits and asking for tips.  Next time we go out we're going to try and find where the locals go.
