It Finally Rained in Tennessee

After days of murderous heat it finally rained enough to cool down the thermometer.  Our roommate, Michael, spent the day taking his preliminary test which is prerequisite to determine if he can continue on to a PhD but according to him it didn't go too well.  In the case of tests though, it seems that we always tend to believe we did worse than we really did so here's hoping it's one of those moments.

Successfully rode the bus to a movie theater and watched the recently released Sex and the City 2 which was an interesting spin on the amazing story lines from the first one.  I won't give anything away in case some people still plan on going out to see it but it was a fun time nonetheless.  The problem with bus schedules is that usually it's only the departure time that I notice so after the movies it was pure chance/luck/providence that the bus was just chilling out at the bus stop when we arrived.  That experience should be a part of the blog, 1000 Awesome Things because it was just one of those feel good moments.  The theater itself was an interesting building, a sort of retro feel with neon lights and pastel stucco and the actual theater room had strange Christmas light portraits on the walls adjacent to the screen.
As for last night, that was a whole other adventure.  Went out to check out the local bar, The Tin Roof, but as it was only a Thursday night and being a typical sports bar there were only older people and it wasn't too full.  The walk there was much more fun because in country music the song writers are still revered as the geniuses (geniusi?) that there are with signs lining the streets congratulating them.  There was also a unique sculpture with a Greek Olympian feel but sadly my camera battery was running low so no pictures of that.  Stopped at Legends Corner again but the bands had nothing on the Corbette Jackson Band.
