Christmas Morning

Christmas morning is always similar-- to an extent-- every year.  The family always sits in the living room (we refer to it as the 'dance room' because it used to have stereo equipment and a piano and the other living room is referred to as the T.V. room because...) and unwraps presents for a while until we get hungry.  Some years people get up super early because they either ate too much sugar the night before or are younger.  After the year when my brother Paul woke up first and proceeded to punch my doll in the face multiple times before I got there I have tried not to be one of the late risers on this occasion.  This year everyone took their time unwrapping everything so it probably took about 2 hours to get through the presents.  Once that was done my parents insisted on going around and having each person show what they got.  In the words of my little brother Neil, "I don't think I've ever had such a productive Christmas"
<<The lovely 'dance room' with SO MANY PRESENTS!!!>>

<<She got a singing Hershey Kiss candy jar which was very difficult to wrap, I might add, because it kept singing after the paper was all taped>>

<<Me and my 100 cookie cutters. Paul was having a moment of pure jealously, I can tell>>

 <<Alright, now he's happy>>

<<Happy happy joy joy. A pink apron! I can tell Neil is jealous here too>>

<<My mom looks like she's having so much fun--and I'm not even being sarcastic!>>

<<Mandy got a huge chewbone which she kept running through the house with and taking out people's shins and dropping on people's feet and growling when we tried to touch it>>

<<Sarah got the coolest glasses ever! She kept jumping into pictures with them to my dad's dismay>>

Yes, a very productive Christmas indeed Neil.  There was so much good will among the many siblings, a Christmas miracle itself!  I hope everyone enjoyed their respective holidays, Merry belated Christmas.  At the time of this post, there will only be 330 days, 10 hours, and 37 minutes until the next one!
