Since arriving here on June 28th after a 4.5 hour car ride, it has been an odd experience with heaps of stress and moments of awkward solitude but now that we're in the last 10 days of camp, I feel like we've all settled into a comfortable atmosphere (although the food is still fried to excessive amounts). I've met so many interesting people including other counselors who have all come from places like Las Vegas, Manchester, Whales, Texas, California, Toronto, Ireland, and Scotland. The kids have been a challenge to understand their habits of finishing a snack and dropping the wrapper/core/stick wherever they happen to be but they've been fun to hang out with...most of the time. I'm still figuring out the life lessons I supposedly learned here and throughout the entire summer but I have learned a lot and have gained some of that motivation I was looking for.
Just watched the latest Jersey Shore episode though not in its entirety b/c people have a lovely habit of changing channels here faster than Pauly D can spin it. At the risk of sounding a little obsessive, Angelina should just get off the show, no one likes her or wants her there and Sammi is a little bit of a control freak, just sayin'.
Last thought of the day, my friend from high school Tonya Sims is currently on a study abroad trip to India and has started a blog of her travels. Her photos are beautiful and I am absolutely inspired to visit the place myself in due time. Interested? Check it out at updatesfromindia.blogspot.com
